For years, my life was dominated by migraines – pain, exhaustion, and the feeling of being at the mercy of my body. I sought explanations in medicine, diet, and lifestyle. Many things helped to some extent, but the questions remained.
I functioned, persevered, and adapted, while my body increasingly demanded attention. Only when I began to explore my migraines not just physically, but also in relation to my inner experience, did something fundamental change.
Today I no longer see my migraines as an enemy. For me, they have also become a guidepost: They have led me to perceive more precisely how I live, what I feel, and what I need.
I know what it's like to live with migraines from personal experience. I know what it's like when plans become uncertain and your routine is constantly disrupted. I bring this experience to my work – along with over 30 years of experience in psychotherapy and business consulting.
As an integral psychotherapist (HPG), coach, and trainer, I have facilitated thousands of sessions. I am the founder of the PSIAM Academy and have trained numerous therapists there and at the School of Life in the Netherlands.
What I've learned over the years is that a person cannot be reduced to a diagnosis. That's why I'm just as interested in your symptoms as you are in your story, your relationships, your sources of strength, and the questions that are currently on your mind.
My work combines psychotherapeutic knowledge with body-oriented and trauma-sensitive support. I pay attention to the nervous system, feelings, and inner patterns – to how insights manifest in the body, in private life, and in professional life.
Silence, meditation, and spiritual practice are also part of my own path. They can have a place in our work together if you wish. You don't have to share a particular worldview. My multidimensional approach has grown out of these different perspectives. It helps me remain open to what's relevant to you, rather than giving you a ready-made explanation for your migraines.
People with migraines have often tried many things. They know possible triggers, gather advice, and strive to do everything "right." Despite this, many feel alone with their experience.
I wanted to create a space where we can take a closer look. A space for medical knowledge and personal experience, for body and feelings, for life story and what is happening in your everyday life today.
This is how Migraine Transformation came about. I am driven by the question of how people can gain a deeper understanding of their symptoms and discover new ways of dealing with themselves and their lives.
I listen, ask questions, and explore with you the connections that emerge. I'm also interested in what already sustains you:
We also look at recurring stressors and explore together what physical, emotional, or biographical connections we can uncover. We proceed at a pace that suits you. Past experiences can be important; we don't need to force them. Sometimes, a helpful first step is to recognize a stressor more clearly, accept support, or take care of yourself differently in everyday life.
It is important to me that you feel understood in our work – and that what you discover also supports you in your everyday life.
